Welcome to this week’s crochet corner where I try to share the truth about what’s going on with me and crochet! This week I’m spreading Crochet Concupiscence around the web a little more, continuing to obsess over granny squares and musing on a Vanna White crochet design.
Crochet Concupiscence May Be Featured in Inside Crochet!
Inside Crochet held a round of blog nominations for the 2011 fave crafty blog and Crochet Concupiscence was nominated (thanks to all of you who helped me get there!) That means I’m in the top 6 with the potential to have this crochet blog featured in the great crochet magazine. If you want to help, go here and vote for Crochet Concupiscence as your top pick! I’m in good company over there with SIBOL, Attic 24, Planet June, Emma Varnam and Little Tin Bird so anyone who wins will be great but of course I’d love for Crochet Concupiscence to get picked!
Crochet Concupiscence on Google +
I’ve created a Google + page for Crochet Concupiscence. I don’t really like Facebook, which is why I’ve never bothered with a Facebook page, but I do like the way that this type of page can help expand and strengthen the Crochet Concupiscence community. I’m hoping that you’ll join me on Google +. The page features daily crochet questions, quotes and more.
Crochet Concupiscence on YouTube
You may have noticed that I’ve started slowly learning to create videos to show off my crochet work and I’m planning on expanding on those skills to create various types of crochet videos. These will be primarily entertainment as opposed to tutorials. You can follow Crochet Concupiscence on YouTube if that’s something that interests you.
Crochet Concupiscence on Etsy
Ssh … I’ve soft launched my Etsy store. More to come over the next few weeks …
Granny Square Adoration
I’m still obsessing over granny squares. I’ve just about finished up the new large granny blanket that I’m making for myself out Patons Silk Bamboo yarn. I’m also making these large granny cowls that can double as cozy eighties-style cut sweaters:
Vanna White Contest
Have you seen the Vanna’s Choice Contest? You use Vanna’s yarn to crochet (or knit) an item to enter into the contest, which has tons of different prizes and a grand prize of $100,000. I got myself some Vanna’s Glamour to play with and am swatching around to see what I might want to create.
Tell me, what’s going on in your corner of crochet?
