Here are some of my favorite blog posts from around the crochet web this past week:
- Freeform Hat in Progress. I love how this Laughing Purple Goldfish Designs post gives some insight into how the process works when making a freeform but wearable piece.
- Choosing Yarn Colors for a Blanket. I really loved the post that Attic 24 did this week showing how she really takes her time in choosing yarn colors. She explained her color-selection process and showed how one set of similar colors can differ greatly from another based on a few small choices.
- Yarn Color Substitutions. Crochet Me also had a nice post this week on yarn colors; this one is about choosing colors when substituting yarn in a pattern.
- Fashion Trends … In Crochet. Donnas Decembers did a terrific post showing five Elle fashion trends and how they translate in great crochet.
- Vintage Crochet Books. Underground Crafter shared some of her favorite finds from her vintage crochet books. Wonderful!
- Blocking the Modern Jabot. Stitch Story shares blocking tips for this design that she published recently in Interweave. (Great design idea by the way!) Blocking tips are always appreciated!
- Natural Wool Dyeing with Rooibos Tea. Natural Suburbia showed us how to do this. I’ve been wanting to get into yarn dyeing for a little while now and I’m thinking I’ll go the natural dye route.
- Interview with Cheezombie. Fresh Stitches did a lovely interview with the maker of adorable knit and crochet creatures.
- Flower Brooch Patterns. Maude and Me made three different flower brooches for her mum and shared the patterns on her blog.
- Robot Love. A Stash Addict’s Ramblings shared photos of her adorable new amigurumi robot.
- Crochet is Addictive. A die-hard knitter learns to crochet and loves it.
- What I Wish I’d Known When I Learned to Crochet. A nice guest post by Maybe Matilda over at Southern Lovely.
